Team Ultimate Fitness will be well represented next weekend with 6 athletes competing at the World Triathlon Championships on the Gold Coast. Kym Jaenke, Krista Meares and Stephen O’Brien are contesting the ITU Age Group Triathlon World Champs next Saturday. Stephen will be making his Australian debut whilst Krista will be hoping to improve on her 12th placing at Vancouver 2008. Kym will be representing Australia for the 3rd occasion and is hoping to defend her 30-34year old female World Championship title.

I would like to wish Michael Smith, Aaron Hewitt and Andrew Brady the very best in the ITU Sprint Triathlon Championships next Sunday. All 3 guys are making their Australian Triathlon debuts.

All these athletes are currently training with Team Ultimate Fitness so I would encourage all athletes and supporters to get to the coast next weekend and cheer on your team members. All of them have worked hard throughout the season and will appreciate as much support as possible.

Team Ultimate Fitness will have 2 marquees available for all Team Ultimate Fitness athletes, supporters, family and friends to utilise on the Saturday and Sunday. These marquees will be located at the northen end of the run course and will provide a great vantage point to cheer on our athletes. These marquees will be open from 6am to 5pm both days.

We are just over one week out from the 2009 City 2 Surf. Its been a fantastic running season to date and its been wonderful to see so many of you training together over the last few months. Its been a real pleasure to have you all along for this years race and I hope everyone has an enjoyable experience in Sydney. Firstly a massive thanks to you all for the your attendance in supporting this local event. Tom from the Hospital Foundation thoroughly appreciates the support our Team gives IHF throughout the year.

Our team has a big advantage training twice weekly on the Park 2 Park course but sadly it doesn’t seem to get any easy. Netherless congratulations on your results and with less then 2 weeks to go to Sydney its great to see all of you fit and running well.

The Gatton Grunt is a Duathlon and 5km lake run being held on Sunday the 23rd August 2009. Peter Wyman is event manager of this inaugural event and we are hoping to make the day a big success especially for the community of Gatton. For more info on the event please go to www.gattongrunt.com.au.
